BEST is a new environmential Group which has been set up to provide a voice for the residents of the Dunmore Road /Ardkeen and surrounding areas  on any new activities affecting the local environment. A concern at the moment is the issue of waste management and the proposals to have a thermal treatment or incineration plant near to Waterford city.

BEST is a non-political group, and it's members are from the Dunmore Road ,Ardkeen,Williamstown,Passage Rd. and Ballygunner Areas.

Approximate Location of proposed Waste Incinerator near Belview Port

Atmospheric discharges from existing installations near the Port as seen from Grantstown Village. The proposed Incinerator would use a larger Chimney and presumably emit more gases even if they will be less visible.
