Order goes Nationwide today and some book related thoughts.

 Innocent?    12-07-07

     Innocent?

After finishing HBP I’m dying to get back to forum debating so I will begin with one of my favourite topics, Snape.

Now for the purpose of this argument I am assuming Snape is still in league with the Order  murdered Dumbledore under Dumbledore’s and of course this is all known only by Dumbledore and himself. More here

New Updates on Jo's Official site

26-01-06

JK Rowling has added a lengthy update to the news section discussing her recent visit to Budapest about the plight of disabled children in Romanian ‘care homes.’

The article goes on to outline the work of the Children’s high level group (a group which Jo is a part of), the social problems which lead to children being forced into these conditions and what can be done to protect the rights of children throughout the world.

Jo has also update her diary section (as the vow to keep the regular updates stays on track)  talking about her recent bout of writers block during Christmas and her resent successful run or to use her exact words ‘Flood of Inspiration,’ which Jo feels won’t last forever.

Both can be read he at JKRowling.com

1. Much out my study

2. Do not loose any more note books

3. Be ruthless about protecting writing days

Goblet of Fire DVD news

04-01-06

First of all i'd just like to will everyone out there a Happy New year!  We're now over half way through the oo's and well on course for the 10's.  Is that what the next decade is going to be know as? :)

Anyway whars new in the world of Harry Potter?

Anyway there has been much news about the release of the GOF as it enters what I think must be its 11th week in the Irish box office

According to gameshout.com  the new DVD is set to coincide wit the release of the PSP game 'The Sorcerer’s Stone,' on the 7th of March.  However this is yet to be confirmed.

Apart from this harrylatino.com has realised some information on the delated scenes which can be found on the GOF DVD.

SCENE 1: Dumbledore asks his pupils to welcome Durmstrang and Beauxbatons students. The Hogwarts students then start to sing the school song.

SCENE 2: A Durmstrang student asks a girl to go with him to the Yule Ball. She says yes.  Two Durmstrang students make gestures in the background.

SCENE 3: Harry attempts and fails to get Cho on her own to ask her to the Yule Ball.

SCENE 4: The Weird Sisters are by Professor Flitwick. The lead singer speaks with the audience and then starts the first song.

SCENE 5: Karkaroff tells Snape about the mark of his arm. Snape ignores him and removes house points from Fawcet and Stebbins, who briefly appear in the scene.

SCENE 6: Mr. Crouch and Harry are speaking. Mad-Eye appears and Barty quickly leaves.

SCENE 7: The trio speak about the death of Mr. Crouch. Hermione recommends Harry goes to visit Dumbledore.

SCENE 8: Harry Hermione and Ron discuss what Karkaroff was showing Snape on his arm. Hermione asks  realises the potions Snape causes Harry of stealing are the ingredients needed for they need in their second year Polyjuice Potion.
Thank you to VTM for the translations!

New Forum

 28-12-05

I'm A little excited at this new addition to the site mainly because it should really speed things up.  I've always found that the forum of any site is by far the most interesting place as with in a properly developed forum, such as my beloved VTM you find the community who make the site what it is.  The main pages are of course interesting, but in for me it's very much a case of finding Diagon Alley beyond the leaky Cauldron.  Not that the Leaky cauldron isn't worth a visit, it just that the proverbial Diagon Alley is just that bit more instant, so I will now spend my time laying down it's foundations but please it's really up to the you to make it what it is.  And sadly the Irish Harry Potter fandom has been extremely under represented.  The fan sites are few and far between and as far as I can see the only forum I have found thus far is on boards.ie which is fine but it's only a sub section, but I'm sure we can change all that and create the first proper Irish centred Harry Potter Forum on the net.  Of course nationality aside I welcome everyone and anyone to participate, but as this is a local site, it will still have that local theme.

In other news J.K. Rowling has recently updated her site again, just in time for the Christmas break.  It now  boasts a new introduction page giving the subscriber the option of logging into the either flash or text only options in six different languages (including Japanese).  The Rumours section has been doubled and in only foul swoop it's probably managed to kill of dozens of theories, (as well as a few of my own) :)  .  Also J.K has entered a second diary entry where she lays out her plans for writing the final book in 2006.  And finally there is a new FAQ section under three sections about me (J.K Rowling, about the books and other stuff.  JK Rowling also gives her fans an option to pick between three different questions to ask next.  All in all it looks like jkrowling.com will be a very much more active site for the New Year.

SoulJacker's Return

  5-11-05

I have to apologise for going AWOL for the past few months but as I'm a final year student I've been pretty stressed the last while with all my studying and what not but with my brief reprieve I'd like to get this site properly up and running and to need that I desperately need your theories, Harry Potter stories, life stories, anything!!

I’m going to start transferring all the stuff over to the new format to make it a bit more accessible to my subscribers.. all three of them. :p

Although I myself am not a huge fan of the Harry Potter Movies (although I have to admit I do quite like the Prisoner of Azkaban, and I did recently watched the Chamber of Secrets in Irish although I can barely say a word, so I may qualify, still haven’t seen GOF though), but I think since it's such an iatrical part of the fandom I'm going to introduce a section. Oh an on the movies note some my subscribers...  yes you three out there may have seen our little mention in the Waterford News and Star last week, which I was quite chuffed about.

Anyway hope to be hearing from you very soon!  And please send me anything you have and so long as it’s clean I'll publish it!! :)

New Website

Hello again after a pretty a dismal first attempt, I've completely given up on trying to recreate the front cover of the half blood prince (I don't think anyone could bear to look at a green and blue oh and red screen for to long!) :P .

Here's the latest attempt,  I hope it goes down a bit better.  There’s a few piccies of the release night in Waterford, I’m afraid the ones of the crowd outside didn’t come out too well, so the selection on show is limited to ones of me (eek!  Why I’m doing this I don’t know, but if I get a few theories out of it I won’t complain too much!) and the inside of the Book Centre

I'll try and be a little more proactive in getting the site up so please watch this space! :)

Quick Update

Hi,

The book has now been released!  I've been busy creating a new template, which you can see here.  But before I manage to transform the whole site why not tell everyone what you think of the book here The new site should be up soon! thank you for being so patient!

New Questions in the FAQ Section

Not surprisingly there's been a few updates on Jo's site here In particular to the rumours section, where many theories have met there untimely end.  If you haven’t read through this section I'd really advise doing so before you get the book, as it's great fun to read through.  Jo gives a short synopsis to why it’s wrong and even some hints, which could very well develop into new theories.

The FAQ section has also been updated.  Here Jo gives direct answers to fan questions, which may be seen by some as spoilers.  If your curiosity gets the better of you however simply click on the link above.

New Quiz and New Job

Sorry for taking so long to up date the site but I’ve recently taken up a job as a moderator on Harry Potter Fourm (veritaserum) and I haven’t had too much free time recently but there isn’t really to much new news to report, just waiting for the big release date!!

I will hopefully finally post a new quiz (later today) after months of broken promises.

Edit:  It's Here

For anyone who hasn’t seen them yet the front covers of the Adult, UK and US editions of Harry Potter and the Half-Blood Prince have been released, the one were going to get can be seen here.

The site will be completely revamped some time soon after the 16th into a much more manageable  form.  As much of it will be obsolete, I thinking of something along the lines of it becoming primarily a book seven discussion forum.  Possible titles, what will happen at the end, post what you think the final sentences may be (after all we know the last word is scar), will the prophecy come to fruition?  And so on.

Any way I’ll get started on that new quiz then so!

Take care, Shane
